NRC Migrates Mission-Critical ERP System to Microsoft Software, Helping to Achieve Performance Gains at 10 Percent of Cost of Straight Upgrade

Overview Recognized globally for research and innovation, Canada's National Research Council (NRC) is a leader in the development of an innovative, knowledge-based economy for Canada through science and technology. The existing UNIX/Oracle server platform that ran NRC's SAP ERP system, supporting more than 3,500 users, had exceeded its capabilities resulting in serious performance issues. The cost of a straight upgrade was prohibitive to the NRC. The NRC switched to Microsoft software, enabling the NRC to increase performance by 50 to 100 per cent and significantly increase capacity by approximately 100 gigabytes.
