Overview Qualcomm's OmniTRACS Online provides wireless tracking of real-time freight data over the World Wide Web. OmniTRACS Online is a Web-based system for giving shippers and transportation companies a way to check the whereabouts of truck shipments, any time, from anywhere. The application was written and runs in a pure Microsoft environment, featuring the Microsoft Windows Distributed interNet Application (DNA) architecture with Component Object Model (COM) technology, the Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 suite of programming tools, and Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 Enterprise Edition. The application is capable of scaling to handle two million database transactions a day, representing tracking activities for approximately 100,000 trucks.
