Hospital System Replaces Mainframe With Windows-Based Solution, Saves $10 Million
Overview When ProMedica Health System expanded from three hospitals to eight in just few years, it found itself with hospital information systems running on UNIX, AS/400, and mainframe platforms. ProMedica needed to consolidate on a solution that would help ensure its strategic growth over the next decade. The company chose the Stockell InsightCS solution running on Microsoft Windows Server System integrated server software. The hardware and software costs were as much as U.S.$10 million less than what it would have cost ProMedica to consolidate on one of its existing platforms. The solution, along with other procedural changes, speeds the monthly close by 42 percent and cuts accounts receivable time by 10 percent.
