New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority Improves the Accuracy and Efficiency of Surveillance Audits With the 2007 Microsoft Office System
Overview The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of New Zealand, a governmental agency in the Transport sector, faced a number of challenges when monitoring compliance with civil aviation rules. The process for conducting audits and inspections was predominantly paper-based, and required data to be captured on multi-part paper forms before being recaptured and uploaded to audit systems long after the completion of the audit, increasing the risk for incomplete or inaccurate information. CAA deployed Office SharePoint Server 2007 combined with the scheduling features in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 which allowed the CAA to automate the process of scheduling and monitoring audit tasks and improving auditors' productivity.
