Adhesives Manufacturer Simplifies IT, Boosts Productivity With New Messaging System

Overview Elmer's Products, Inc., producer of well-known adhesives for general consumer use, has undergone several company acquisitions and consequent iterations of its IT infrastructure, most recently using a messaging environment based on IBM Lotus Domino and Lotus Notes. Elmer's found the administration of the Notes environment to be time-intensive; in particular, the extent of user training and IT intervention required were resource drains on the company. Elmer's decided that it could simplify its communications environment and realize significant productivity benefits by adopting integrated Microsoft products and technologies, starting with Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and Microsoft Office Standard 2007. In addition to the productivity benefits Elmer's expects to see, the company anticipates a significant reduction in time spent administering its e-mail environment.
