Leading Engineering Specialist Helps Employees Collaborate in Real Time

Overview SPIE helps 50,000 public and private sector customers' design, build, operate, and maintain their buildings and facilities. To deliver services effectively, employees need to collaborate with colleagues at 400 locations worldwide. SPIE has deployed Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 to enhance e-mail, voice mail and fax communications. In addition, it rolled out Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, allowing colleagues to contact each other in real time with instant messaging, voice over IP calls, video connections, or conferences (Web/audio/video). Employees no longer leave messages for colleagues who are unable to respond, resulting in significant time savings. Importantly, the company has also increased efficiency by cutting the cost of calling between international sites.
