Overview This white paper discusses HP's introduction of HP-UX 11i v3, the most recent release of the HP-UX 11i Unix operating system. The server operating system is widely installed within the HP server installed base, and competes with other Unix operating environments in the worldwide Unix server marketplace. Although all Unix operating systems share some features in common, each of the Unix providers has differentiated its Unix operating system offering, providing improved functionality and faster performance, along with advanced features. HP-UX 11i v3 has been optimized to leverage virtualization technologies that allow mission-critical workloads to be deployed more flexibly while improving the manageability of the overall system.
