Overview The Chinese Government is promoting the welfare lottery system through over-the-counter sales and newer online applications. China Lottery Online Technology Co., Ltd is responsible for developing, operating, and maintaining online lottery issue and distribution systems. The online lottery has become one of the fastest growing games in China. To ensure it can handle large increases in participant numbers and lottery sales, China Lottery Online adopted Oracle Database 10g grid technology to build a powerful, scalable, and highly available database platform to run the online lottery system. As a result, the system can process large numbers of concurrent transactions at high speed. The scalability of the Oracle solution means China Lottery Online can extend the system in line with growth, minimizing up-front hardware costs.
