Overview Known in Europe for its laptop microcomputers and as a manufacturer of sophisticated electronic components, the Japanese group Toshiba also enjoys an enviable position in office systems through its subsidiary, the Toshiba TEC group, which specializes in multifunction printing systems (scanners, photocopiers, printers, etc.) and point-of-sale equipment (tills, balances, etc.). The group has an industrial and logistics unit close to Dieppe, manufacturing multifunction devices and toners, as well handling logistics for the French market. On the hypercompetitive market of image processing and document printing systems, speed of response to customer demands is a decisive factor. That is why the Toshiba TEC group chose to deploy Oracle E-Business Suite in France, then Europe-wide, from a single English-language database instance located in France.
