Pitico Consolidates Information in a Single Database, Automates Processes, and Optimizes Productivity

Overview Pitico began operating in Mexico in 1972 and within a few years became the first self-service supermarket in the city of Oxaca. Pitico wanted to establish a stable and flexible data infrastructure to optimize performance throughout the organization and improve employee productivity. The challenge was to enhance the competitiveness and profitability of all sales points throughout the country and achieve operational visibility to bring speed and efficiency to management decision making. The company implemented a flexible and open technology architecture, migrating from a SAP database to Oracle Database Enterprise Edition, through which Pitico achieved optimum application performance. It also consolidated information in a single data repository, improving visibility into all business operations and driving more informed decisions.
