Central Finland Health Care District Improves Decision Making and Performance With New Data Warehouse
Overview The Central Finland Health Care District wanted to improve data quality to support decision making and strategic planning across the health care district and consolidate existing data sources, both internal and external, and enable easy and direct access for decision makers. The challenge was to manage and manipulate the massive amounts of patient, treatment, and administrative information data generated every year by approximately 226,500 outpatients, 203,300 inpatients, and 2,700 staff and replace paper-based reporting with a faster and more efficient process. The Health Care District created a fully integrated, high-performance data warehouse with the functionality to present data to support analysis and sound decision making - at both the clinical and organizational level - using Oracle data warehouse and Oracle business intelligence technology.
