Business Information Provider Deploys Robust Branch Office Solution
Overview Factiva, a Dow Jones & Reuters Company, is a leading provider of services that put essential business information in the hands of busy executives. To ensure that the company's sales personnel have access to pertinent internal data, Factiva moved internal data from its geographically dispersed branch offices to a central data center. This gives sales staff powerful collaboration and file sharing capabilities as well as creates system administration efficiencies and reduces maintenance costs associated with storing data in branch offices. Working with Tacit Networks, a Microsoft Storage Partner, Factiva implemented Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 combined with Tacit Networks' Wide Area File Services (WAFS). Centralizing by using Tacit Networks' WAFS provides staff with access to data at high speeds over the company's WAN and yields administrative savings.
