New Desktop Environment Security Gives World's Largest Online Food Retailer Confidence
Overview Tesco.com first offered U.K. consumers online grocery shopping in 1996.Security is an intrinsic part of the relationship between Tesco.com and its customers. Nick Lansley, the IT and New Technologies Manager at Tesco.com, believes that these essential security requirements will be met with the roll-out of Microsoft Windows Vista to its employees' desktop and laptop computers. With the Network Access Protection feature of Windows Vista, employees with computers that do not meet internal health policies will be prevented from accessing an internal network, thus removing the potential for the spread of malware. Using Windows BitLocker gives Tesco.com the reassurance that should a laptop happen to fall into the wrong hands, its data and source code will remain unavailable to third parties.
