Comune di Roma Enhances Security, Usability With Operating System Upgrade

Overview Comune di Roma sought to reduce the management complexity of its network and lower total cost of ownership to provide better value to its citizens. To help improve efficiency, Comune di Roma wanted to: provide functionality that helps employees find data so that they can streamline processes for better public service. Enhance data security to minimize the potential impact of lost or stolen portable computers and increase return on investment through faster deployments and a more efficient, intuitive user interface. Comune di Roma is using a prerelease version of the Windows Vista operating system to evaluate both its security and user experience. The organization worked with Microsoft Global Services Partner Getronics to implement the solution on 1,000 workstations distributed in 19 departments, including the IT department.
