Ensuring Efficient Service in the Milan Underground
Overview Azienda Trasporti Milanesi SpA (ATM), with nearly one hundred years of experience, manages public transportation in the city of Milan and 85 neighboring localities. Azienda Trasporti Milanesi SpA wanted to keep trains running on schedule while minimizing passengers' waiting time at stops. The challenge was to automatically manage trains' arrivals and departures and maintain a chronological record of events. The company covered critical requirements for two systems with flexible, scalable software and leveraged hot "Standby" feature for server nodes and PLC configuration and control.
