Overview RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana or Italian Railway Network) is the part of the state railway system (Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato) that manages the infrastructure of the system. RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana) wanted to improve service for railway users. The challenge was to provide real-time status information to operators for more timely corrective actions. The company deployed a flexible, multiplatform SCADA system and scalable, object-oriented software that permits easy development of vertical solutions. They also had ability to manage huge amounts of data in real time.
