Siemens Case Study: NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)
Overview In August 2002, the Mechanical Systems Division at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), a NASA center managed by the California Institute of Technology, decided to use a single source for all the tools it uses for large-scale projects. Jet Propulsion Laboratory wanted to integrate analysis data with the rest of engineering data and have an easy method for analysts to find and reuse data. The company integrated CAE and CAD into central Teamcenter tool. They also improved process time based on analysis reuse and associativity between CAD data and analysis data.
