Solid Edge Helps Wauquiez International Accelerate the Development Cycle and Provides a Digital Platform for Eventual Customization of Boat Interiors
Overview Sought-after sailing yachts Henri Wauquiez built his first sailing yacht in 1965, the opening chapter in an ongoing story of a passion for sailing and high-quality boats. Wauquiez sailing yachts are famous around the world as comfortable, fast and reliable boats. Wauquiez International wanted to reduce the time needed to bring a new boat from concept to reality. The challenge was to control development costs in face of increasing competition. The company modeled boat components as 3D models in Solid Edge software and created virtual assembly models of entire boats to replace physical mockups. They used solid models to drive manufacturing equipment.
