VoIP - IP Telephony White Papers
Developing a Real-Time IP-Based G3 Facsimile Relay Solution
Overview The company wanted to develop and implement a real-time IP-based G3 facsimile relay and voice solution for a satellite network as well as optimize and implement VoIP codecs, Line Echo Canceller, and the T.38 packetization protocol. The challenge was to design a Jitter Buffer capable of concealing packet loss and minimize delay jitter and develop and implementing facsimile modems for a satellite network. As a solution the company implemented speech codecs, general telephony algorithms, DTMF Generator/Detector, Tone Detector (voiceband), Echo Canceller, and codecs. It also implemented G3 facsimile functionality, V.29 modems, timing/carrier recovery and clock synchronization algorithms and T.30 and T.38 protocol engines.
