Multipoint Bridged Ethernet Using MPLS Virtual Private LAN Services

Overview Multipoint Bridged Ethernet is a service offering that attempts to recreate the functionality of an Ethernet Local Area Network (LAN) in a distributed fashion over the Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN). Virtual Private LAN Services (VPLS) is an implementation of Multipoint Bridged Ethernet (MBE) that uses MultiProtocol Label Switching (MPLS) to implement multiple MBE service instances in a scalable manner with Quality of Service (QoS) and customer isolation.
