Nortel Network Case Study: New York State Unified Court System
Overview The New York State Unified Court System is a large and diverse organization with almost 1,200 judges. The New York State Unified Court System wanted to implement a true converged network that would drive operational cost savings, but and more importantly allow them to leverage a series of new services that would help enhance the productivity of the more than 15,000 users, while helping to simplify all sorts of court business transactions. They wanted to implement services such as Voice over IP (VoIP), video-conferencing, video-surveillance, and eLearning in the most cost-effective manner. After reviewing Nortel's Managed Services offering, the New York State Unified Court System selected Nortel to implement, monitor and manage a fully converged network, consisting of optical, data and VoIP components.
