Nortel Network Case Study: Maxima Medisch Centrum

Overview One of the largest medical training facilities in the Netherlands, Maxima Medisch Centrum was established in 2002 when the St Joseph Hospital in Veldhoven merged with Eindhoven's Diaconessenhuis (hospital). The Dutch healthcare sector is highly competitive, as service users can now choose where they receive treatment. Maxima Medisch Centrum therefore faces challenges similar to those within the private sector. The organisation also needed to consolidate its leading position in Dutch healthcare provision and education - demanding a wide variety of new and advanced communications technology. To address these challenges, Nortel partner Dimension Data recommended a fully integrated Nortel communications system. The solution included: Nortel Communication Server 1000 at both hospital sites to provide IP telephony services to staff throughout the organisation.
