Nortel Network Case Study: Louisiana Superdome
Overview One of America's most recognizable landmarks, the Louisiana Superdome first opened in 1975 as a large, multi-purpose sports and exhibition facility located in the center of New Orleans. In the aftermath of hurricane Katrina in 2005, the Superdome was severely damaged. Just as the structure needed to be rebuilt, so did the communications network. The network also needed to be flexible enough to support different kinds of users on any given day, as well as a huge number and multiple types of devices that need to be connected. Working with Nortel's channel partner, Cohesive Solutions, the Superdome's new converged network is comprised of Nortel data, mobility, IP telephony and security solutions.
