FSU Attracts the Best Students and Faculty With a New "Technology Showcase" Network
Overview The Panama City campus - located on pristine North Bay just off the Gulf of Mexico - began 2007 in the midst of a building boom sparked by the doubling of enrollment between 2001 and 2006. They wanted to be a technology showcase for this region. Along with the new buildings, wanted to build in a new technology infrastructure, and in the process create great tools for teaching and learning and a great asset for recruiting. Becoming a "Technology showcase" started with the replacement of voice and data networks reaching an end-of-life scenario. But it really entailed much more than that. Nortel grasps the issues facing campus IT managers in environment - and the most talked-about issues at universities today are security and mobility.
