VoIP - IP Telephony White Papers

Leading National Provider of Medical Supplies Uses VoIP for Superior Customer Relations

Overview Byram Healthcare engaged an analyst firm to evaluate end-to-end business processes, from ordering to pick-ship-bill. The company wanted an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system to streamline ordering processes, on the grounds that repeat customers don't necessarily need to talk with a sales agent, but just want speedy completion of their order. The company deployed Nortel VoIP solution with IVR, which the company personalized as "Automated Voice Assistant" (AVA), over Nortel LAN infrastructures. A Nortel Communication Server 1000 call server delivers IP PBX services with an extensive range of calling features, including CallPilot unified messaging; A Nortel Ethernet Switch 470-PWR switch/router delivers the quality of service required for VoIP and sends power to IP phones over the Ethernet LAN.
