Leading Israeli Medical Authority Reduces Daily Helpdesk Calls to Single Figures

Overview The Computation Authority at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Faculty of Medicine is responsible for all computing infrastructures across the campus's two faculties and five professional schools. Growing demands on the Computation Authority's resources made it important to develop services. For example, the many disparate systems in use had no single point of access. However, under the existing architecture, it became increasingly difficult to make improvements. A completely new infrastructure was designed and implemented using Active Directory, directory service. Students, teachers, and researchers can now access all network resources with a single sign on, regardless of their client desktop infrastructure. Also, an education portal was piloted using the Microsoft Learning Gateway framework, connecting students, lecturers, information, services, and applications.
