Leading Digital Music Company Standardises Infrastructure and Extends Global Reach

Overview Digital music company Music Choice wanted to diversify the way it broadcast music. The existing infrastructure, however, lacked the flexibility needed to achieve this goal. Microsoft and HP worked together with the Music Choice technical team to create a new solution that manages selection, retrieval, and transmission of 500,000 audio tracks and supports transmissions using Internet, satellite, and local servers. The solution is based on the Microsoft .NET Framework, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (64-bit), and Microsoft Operations Manager 2005. Today, the company is better placed to adapt to customer demand, offering more flexible music delivery. As much as 50 per cent more tracks are stored in a new digital library.
