Rural Doctors View Medical Images Remotely

Overview Located in central Pennsylvania north of the capital, Harrisburg, Susquehanna Health System was founded in 1994, when three hospitals in the greater Williamsport area formed an alliance. Susquehanna Health System wanted to improve access to medical images and information for physicians who are geographically dispersed. The challenge was to enhancing overall responsiveness, productivity, efficiency, and quality of care, as well as aiding in recruiting new staff members. The company deployed Cisco Medical-Grade Network running Siemens SIENET PACS, which integrates various imaging systems and modalities.
