Overview LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is a widely used Internet Standard Protocol for accessing a directory. LDAP also defines the "Information model" of the directory being accessed. This white paper looks at why an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or Mobile Provider would want to use LDAP and the benefits to an ISP of holding customer account information in an LDAP Directory.
