TCP Capture Avoidance in Wireless Networks Based on Path Length and Path Density

Overview This paper proposes a distributed ingress throttling scheme for wireless networks based on path length and path density such that TCP fairness is guaranteed. To this end the paper introduces a model for the sustainable load permitted in the MAC interference zone. This model is then calibrated using simulations for a worst case scenario. The author is able to validate the desired performance of the scheme in simulations as well as real world experiments. This paper also compares the solution to other schemes for TCP capture mitigation.
