Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Improves Financial Securities Reference Data
Overview Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (Teachers') is the manager of a pension fund for Ontario's active and retired teachers and is an active global investor. Teachers' had systems in place to automate and validate securities feeds. However, the information was fragmented and not consolidated into a common database. This limited the organization's ability to cross-reference securities information and support critical risk and decision support systems. To make improvements, Teachers' worked with technology partner Cyberplex to develop a solution built on Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004. By connecting a series of disparate systems, the new solution allows Teachers' to cross-reference corporate entities and securities information virtually seamlessly, helping the organization make better-informed decisions.
