ARC and Duluth Police Prevent Crime and Improve Efficiency With Real-Time Information
Overview Arrowhead Regional Corrections (ARC) is a five-county regional community corrections agency that provides juvenile and adult corrections services in northeastern Minnesota. Relying on three disparate data systems made it impossible for police to check law enforcement data quickly on juvenile escapees, warrants, or violations. Without the data to back them up, police were unable to retain an apprehended teen and if a teenager no longer under an arrest warrant was mistakenly arrested, police were at risk of a civil lawsuit. With JUV E NET's real-time data sharing capability and Microsoft SQL Server, data is uploaded from three disparate databases on two non-homogenous backbones into one central system. The data is then made available to officers over the Internet.
