Nortel Network Case Study: Telecom Egypt

Overview Telecom Egypt, the incumbent telecommunications provider in Egypt, is also the largest provider of fixed-line services in the Middle East with more than 10.8 million customers as of December 2006. In a competitive and dynamic communications environment, Telecom Egypt faced the challenge of introducing new end-user VoIP services to meet customer demand. Telecom Egypt required a solution to coordinate and manage system integration activities for multi-vendor products across multiple countries. Nortel provided Systems Integration and Project Management services from its Network Implementation portfolio for a comprehensive solution of end-to-end integration services throughout the life of the project, as well as its Communication Server 2000, an IMS-ready carrier grade softswitch operating in an open standards Nortel VoIP network.
