Nortel Network Case Study: Stora Enso

Overview Stora Enso is a global market leader for paper, packaging and forest goods, producing publication and fine papers, packaging boards and wood products. The company wanted to implement a new network with high reliability and redundancy to support both manufacturing and office applications now and into the future. Stora Enso looked at the networking products that were available and found that Split Multi-Link Trunking (SMLT), a Nortel Networks innovation, dramatically improves the reliability of networks by overcoming the limitations of other technologies. In an SMLT configuration if any link or switch fails, applications are unaffected as traffic is automatically redirected around the failure within one second.
