VoIP - IP Telephony White Papers

International Pharmaceutical Firm Deploys IP Telephony for More Effective Global Communications

Overview An organisation with plans for collaborative working on a global scale needs an optimal communications infrastructure. Stiefel Laboratories, the world's largest independent pharmaceutical company specialising in dermatology, is a clear case in point. To enable employees at the UK Research and Development (R&D) site to collaborate with employees worldwide more effectively was a challenge for the organisation. Nortel provided an IP telephony solution based on the Nortel Communication Server 1000 with Nortel CallPilot. Quality of Service and Power over Ethernet (PoE) were delivered by a stack of Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 5520s. All users at the site were supplied with Nortel IP Phone 2002s.
