Overview Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac), Australia's premier specialist cancer centre, has been an integral specialist service provider, researcher and integrator for more than 50 years. The company wanted to develop an IP-enabled converged network for voice and data traffic including new functionality such as voicemail, department-specific call queuing and centre-wide reporting. A Nortel Communication Server 1000 IP PBX with Nortel CallPilot, two Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 8600s at the core and Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 5510s and 5520s at the edge, plus a third Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 8600 providing a separate environment for development and testing without affecting the core production system.
