Overview Novant Health is a not-for-profit consortium of hospitals, nursing homes, outpatient centers, physician practices and outreach programs serving 3.4 million patients in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The company wanted to provide a complete business continuity solution for voice and data services across multiple locations, to drive toward 99.9999 percent network availability to ensure 24x7x365 access to electronic patient records. The company deployed a converged voice/data solution from Nortel - with geographic redundancy for voice and data, and reliable, high-speed optical transport for data mirroring and clinical applications, intelligent packet core networking and full-featured IP voice services for all Novant locations.
