Unified Messaging Leads Communications Strategy at German Retail Company

Overview BayWa Group, an international wholesaler and retailer, had total sales of ?7.3 billion in 2006. Its fully owned subsidiary RI Solution manages IT for the group. Employees at both companies check messages from three different sources - e-mail, fixed voice mail, and mobile voice mail. Switching between these disparate sources is time consuming and inconvenient, particularly for personnel that travel frequently. In response, RI Solution has deployed Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 as the basis for its unified messaging strategy. As a result, a group of mobile employees at RI Solution can now access a single unified inbox from either their mobile phones - used in hands-free mode - or portable computers.
