Dongfeng Motor Corporation Integrates Procurement With SAP and IBM
Overview Dongfeng Motor Ltd in China, a joint venture between Nissan Japan and China Dong Feng Motor Group Corporate, produces an enormous range of vehicles, from heavy trucks to SUVs. Dongfeng Motor Ltd found its manual procurement processes for non-production goods were not keeping pace with its fast-growing auto manufacturing business. The company wanted to reduce its administration costs and build a procurement system capable of scaling up as the whole China Dong Feng Motor Group Corporate grew internationally. Working with IBM Global Business Services, China Dong Feng Motor Group Corporate built an integrated procurement system based on SAP SRM software that enables automated purchase and delivery of goods, allows suppliers to check forthcoming orders and payments, and provides detailed contract and management information.
