Norwich Union Targets Improved Storage Data Management and Year-on-Year Savings With a Cisco Storage Area Network

Overview Norwich Union is the UK's largest insurer with a market share of around 14 per cent With a focus on insurance for individuals and small businesses, Norwich Union insures one in five households, one in seven motor vehicles, and around 800,000 businesses. Norwich Union, the UK's largest insurer, is deploying a Cisco Systems Storage Area Network (SAN) to improve storage management, increase data security and reliability and help reduce overall IT costs. The Norwich Union SAN, built using Cisco MDS 9000 Multilayer fabric switches and directors, helps the company consolidate 'Islands' of storage and enable the company to deploy more than 2500 SAN ports in support of a multi-platform data centre environment.
