AGCO Fendt Ploughs a New Furrow for SAP With IBM System x and DB2

Overview The AGCO Corporation is a major worldwide manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment. AGCO Fendt wanted to create a more cost-effective and flexible environment for its SAP systems. The aim was to simplify administration and open up new possibilities, while decreasing both hardware and software licensing costs. As the first phase of a long-term project, AGCO Fendt implemented two IBM System x 346 servers with Intel Xeon processors to run its SAP HR with IBM DB2 Universal DataBase v8.2.2 (DB2 UDB). The company will add further IBM System x hardware in the coming years to support the complete migration of its remaining SAP applications.
