Making VMware VirtualCenter and VERITAS Cluster Server Coexist: Failing-Over Virtual Machines Using VERITAS Cluster Server in a VirtualCenter Environment
Overview VERITAS Cluster Server (VCS) is a high-availability software solution, designed to provide maximum uptime for enterprise applications. VCS operates by monitoring all resources required for an application to be available and failing over the required resources to standby nodes in the event of a hardware or software failure on the primary node. VMware ESX Server (VMware), is a Virtual Machine (VM) software for consolidating and partitioning servers in high-performance environments. It is a cost effective, highly scalable virtual machine platform with advanced resource management capabilities. VMware VirtualCenter is virtual infrastructure management software that centrally manages an enterprise's virtual machines as a single, logical pool of resources.
