End-User Reasons for Buying HP Integrity Servers

Overview As its customers are well aware, Hewlett-Packard's (HP) strategic server direction involves moving its platforms away from proprietary processors to new designs based on industry-standard chips. For customers seeking premier performance and enterprise-class reliability, HP employs Intel's Itanium processors in its HP Integrity server product line. To showcase the successes of those users who have already moved to Integrity servers, HP engaged Ideas International (IDEAS) to interview a sample of Integrity users around the world and prepare a summary of customer perceptions. In early 2005, IDEAS spoke with a number of early adopters of Integrity servers to understand why they selected this Itanium-based server family and why they would do so again in the future. This paper summarizes their viewpoints.
