NRMA Enhances Reliability and Availability of Road Service Application With Grid Technology

Overview NRMA is known for its prompt roadside service, operating more than 1,000 patrols to assist members whose vehicles have broken down. In 2004/2005, members requested more than 1.6 million Road Service call-outs. Around 93% of visits by road service patrollers in city areas resulted in the member's car being successfully restarted. Members are heavily dependent on this critical service and NRMA responds with frequent enhancements. One of the most recent is the move to Oracle grid technology, which has helped the organization improve the reliability of critical applications underpinning the roadside assistance service. The result is improved customer service and a significant reduction in costs.
