Paris Mutuel Urbain (PMU) Upgrades Its Accounting and Financial System With Scalable Solution
Overview Paris Mutuel Urbain (PMU) was founded in 1930 and has GIE (economic interest group) status with 51 horse racing companies. Paris Mutuel Urbain wanted to implement a next generation accounting and financial solution and integrate new functionality including asset monitoring and budget preparation and monitoring. The challenge was to offer users the benefits of a Web-based system, including ergonomics, integration with office IT tools, workflow, and communication with outside partners. Paris Mutuel Urbain worked with Capgemini to implement Oracle E-Business Suite applications in under 14 months - including new accounting, financial, and supply chain functionalities. It also allowed PMU to monitor expenditures and exercise greater, more pro-active control over its purchasing and invoicing processes.
