How to Survive as an MSSP

Overview Advances in remote communication technology and reliability (for example: Internet, VPNs, VoIP, QoS), coupled with the growing political and commercial access to technically-literate developing countries, allow larger and more aggressive providers to dramatically reduce their operational costs through off-shoring. Thus, Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) will find themselves increasingly competing against multi-national players offering global, yet centralised, delivery of their services. Virtualisation technologies, coupled with improvements in processor performance, and reductions in memory and storage costs, reduce "Per customer costs" at an exponential level that favours the larger providers.
