Toyota, Dealers Fuel Growth, Boost Agility Thanks to Microsoft-Based Web Portal
Overview Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.'s Dealer Network, built on the AS/400 platform, lacked the speed, reliability, and flexibility to support continued growth and the increasingly sophisticated interactions the company wanted to have with its 1,100 Toyota and Lexus dealers. So, the company turned to Microsoft for a Web portal based on Microsoft Windows 2000 Server and a range of Microsoft technologies. The result enables Toyota to boost communication and transactions between dealers and headquarters, outside vendors, and other Toyota dealers.
