Tyneside College Achieves 'Holy Grail' in Teaching by Personalising Education for Every Student

Overview Monkseaton Language College wanted new technology to link student records with other IT systems in the school and secure access to its servers from thousands of external users to achieve the following: Integration of all systems and information about students into a dynamic database; To use that integrated data for personalising learning to students; To have secure identity management that allowed outside support agencies to interact with pupils; Automated account provisioning and administration. Having standardised on the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating system with Active Directory directory service, part of Microsoft Windows Server System integrated server software, Monkseaton became the first school in the United Kingdom to implement Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS) 2003.
