Overview When one of India's leading retail chains looked to upgrade its IT infrastructure, the mandate was clear, reduce the total cost of ownership from the new deployment. Retaining Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) for the purpose, the team drew up a strategic outline to migrate the old domain workgroups to Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and replace previous messaging server with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. In addition, the MCS team recommended the deployment of Systems Management Server 2003, Live Communication Server 2005 and Office SharePoint Portal 2003.
