Law Firm Improves Security and IT Efficiency With Systems Management Software Update

Overview With 27 offices in the United States and additional offices in Asia, Europe, and South America, Holland & Knight is among the world's 15 largest law firms. The firm wanted to improve its ability to report on the status of software deployments, deliver security updates, and accurately inventory hardware and software assets. In 2003, the firm implemented Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0 to automate the delivery of software updates to its 3,500 desktop and portable computers and experienced a total savings of more than U.S.$400,000. However, time-consuming, manual processes were still used to track each update and to inventory assets. To improve those processes, the firm upgraded to Systems Management Server 2003.
